Nets Win Game Six 95-92

photo credit: AP photo/Nam Y. HuhOn Thursday night the Nets held on to win Game 6, forcing a Game 7 on our home turf this Saturday. Many believe the winning combination was Lopez, Johnson and Williams each scoring 17 points. Nope! The good juju was due in part to me, 2 great friends, 3 pitchers of Captain Lawrence, enthralling convo, unlimited free popcorn and Canal Bar. You’re Welcome.
Although we were forced to read lips as the Rangers' audio streamed through the bar, we found ourselves glued to the Nets as they led the Bulls into the final moments of the fourth quarter. By glued I mean splitting our interest between our silent movie of a game and Cantina delivery which arrived near the end of the third quarter. Word to the wise -- make sure Cantina knows you want chips with your guac otherwise you’ll be sorely disappointed. In my incredulous state I tripped over a three-legged dog.
The Nets of yesteryear, or of the New Jersey persuasion, couldn’t have rallied against a team of 13 year olds from the JCC…but introduce them to Jay-Z and they really show some chutzpah.
We have something to be proud of Park Slopers! Sure, the arena is super rusty. Yes, many have argued that the shitshow of Atlantic and Flatbush is only magnified by the addition of a pro sports team. I ask you to set aside any predispositions. Our team is in prime position to advance to the next round. Let’s rally behind them, foam fingers in tow, and cheer them to the next series against Miami!
