King of Cupcakes is Out, and Butter Lane Is In!

So, do you remember how Ricky's went into the cupcake biz with King of Cupcakes, and then it turned into a tremendous shit show and the whole joint shut down in less than 6 mos? Well, Ricky's loss is Butter Lane's gain, cause as of today, 240 7th Ave has got its newest cupcake shop!
Billed as "cupcakes for adults" Butter Lane (which also has a Manhattan location) offers three different kinds of cakes (chocolate, vanilla and banana) and then about a billion choices for icing. They claim to focus on pure ingredients, and offer both French Buttercream icings and American Buttercream icings with flavors such as vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, lemon, choc hazelnut and many more.
Cupcakes are $3/each, with deals for multiples.
They are also serving espresso and other coffee drinks (with Stumptown coffee), and plan to be open from 11am to 8pm daily.
I spoke to shop manager Gary who explained that Butter Lane's location is actually a "pop up shop," which they are opening to gauge neighborhood interest. I'm guessing that also means they got an incredible deal on the rent, but whatevs.
Any one try these suckers yet? What's the verdict?
