In the wake of Sandy, The Nets Have Postponed Their First Game
In keeping up with her string of dumping horrible shit on New York City, Hurricane Sandy has taken one more thing away from us: The Nets' very first game against the Knicks. The showdown was supposed to take place tonight, but because of the massive damage that Sandy has caused, including a shut-down of the entire subway system, the game has been postponed.
"I'm sorry about the game," Bloomberg said in a press conference yesterday. "I was personally going to take my daughters. It's a great stadium and it was going to be a great game."
“We are disappointed that we can’t play, but there are a lot more important things going on right now,” said Nets point guard Deron Williams. “A lot of people lost homes, a lot of people lost loved ones, so a basketball game doesn’t mean much right now." I like this guy.
The Nets will likely play their first game against the Raptors this Saturday. Based on what we know about raptors, this is probably what we can expect.
