Get a Piece of the Brooklyn Sausage Fest

Image via Brooklyn Sausage Fest on FacebookDon’t let the name fool you, folks—this is a bratwurst competition of gargantuan proportions. Reading that sentence back I can see how you may misunderstand my meaning. I’ll explain. The Brooklyn Sausage Fest is not a new gay bar in South Slope or a strip club for eager bachelorette parties. It is, in fact, the first annual sausage competition at the Bell House on 7th Street between 2nd and 3rd Aves in Gowanus.

If you’re ready to eat some serious meat, this event is definitely for you. Attendees will have a chance to wolf down every banger they choose before the winner is named.

The event goes from 2PM-6PM on Sunday, November 24th and for just $20 you can smoke all the sausage you please. Twenty competitors will be given 10lbs of hot or sweet sausage to whip their wieners into a culinary masterpiece, with a percentage of the proceeds going to support BARC (Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition). There are only 200 tickets, so act fast or you’ll miss all the fun and innuendo that are guaranteed to ensue.

And they "still have some slots open" for competitors. (Seriously. That's how they phrased it in the email.):

Each [competitor] will receive 10 lbs of hot or sweet Italian sausage (courtesy of our sponsor Premio) and we'll reimburse them for $50 in extra ingredients on top of that.

Just email info@brooklynsausagefest.com if you want to show off your [insert dick double entendre here] skillz.
