FIPS DAILY ALMANAC: Thursday, March 8, 2012
Rise and shine, FIPS'ters! Welcome to your day! Get out those umbrellas because we're having a HUGE ASS SOLAR STORM today that will most likely disrupt shit. In sports news: could we have the other Manning on the Jets next season?
ON THIS DAY IN BK HISTORY (1856):
This was found in the "Gossip" column of the March 7, 1856 edition of Brooklyn Daily Eagle. Apparently poor, crazy Nancy Conway was locked up in the loony bin on Flatbush and, in an act of desperation, fashioned a makeshift rope from of her apron and undies, which she used to hang herself. When the keeper opened the door "as is his custom" (I'm so glad he doesn't just walk into doors) he found her "quite nude." I wonder if that means her ankles where showing?
Favorite line: "No precautions were taken to prevent the occurrence of this nature." So go for it Nancy, it's just one more free bed.
