FIPS CARES: FASHION FOR ALL

FIPS cares! (really...we do).

Ok everyone, listen up! We have another FIPS CARES community assignment. Why the fuck should you care? Cause maybe we'll be helping your ass next.

One of our fave FIPSers, Felicia Sullivan has put together an amazing event "Fashion For All" and she needs A LOT of fucking help.

She needs volunteers (people to help set-up AND work at the event) and she needs donations. My ass WILL be volunteering on both days, so I'm hoping some of you bitches can help out too.

Here are the deets:

CLOTHING DONATION GUIDELINES

Fashion For All’s mission is to provide an annual day of dignified shopping for residents in low-income communities across the country. Our partnerships with local community activist and outreach organizations, as well as prominent fashion and beauty brands, enable us to provide a day of luxury shopping and white-glove, personalized service for residents in low-income communities, as well as access to local organizations and programs, which provide educational, career, and parenting resources.

Our inaugural event will take place at Irondale in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn on May 16, 2009, from 2-7pm. We have partnered with Ft. Greene Snap, Successful Start, and Dress For Success, to facilitate community outreach and awareness. Dress For Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, as well as a network of support and the career development tools. They will partner with our local participating partners to help women obtain and secure employment.

We anticipate 250-300 event attendees from the Ft. Greene and Bedford Stuyvesant communities, and the attendees will have access to fashionable, free clothing, personal and professional styling, and will automatically be entered to win five luxurious grand prizes from participating sponsors. Food and beverages will also be provided courtesy of our sponsors.

Prior to the shopping event, the “Fashion For All” Donor Party hosted by MINT Jodi Arnold will be held at the MINT Jodi Arnold Showroom on Friday, May 8th. The first 50 guests to arrive with 15 donated items or more will receive a luxurious gift bag. All guests are encouraged to bring at least 15 gently used items for donation. Guests will be offered wholesale price on current MINT Jodi Arnold Collections in appreciation for their donation.

We are presently working on securing 501(c)3 (non-profit) status, which will enable us to accept contributions of clothing and cash donations, which would be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. However, at this time donations are not tax-deductible.
