FIPS CARES: Break Up, Move Out

FIPS cares! (really...we do).

Ok everyone, listen up! We have some more FIPS CARES community assignments. Why the fuck should you care? Cause maybe we'll be helping your ass next.

A couple of months ago when we started this little ole blog, "Nate" was one of FIPS's very first ginuine fans. Now the dude needs a hand.

Lean in:

Sudden, unexpected break-up leaves responsible, quiet, and personable gay college student out in the cold.

But don't cry for me, Park Slope. In trying to pick up the pieces, I am first examining what is a top priority for 99.9% of us in the city: real estate. I am coming from splitting a 1BR for $725 in the southern end of Park Slope (North of Prospect Ave, so yeah, Park Slope.) While paying $725 for a 1BR without having to share would be enough to make me forget all about the painful break-up (sort of), I know that is unrealistic. I am willing to sublet a room, preferably in the Slope or Carroll Gardens or even Billyburg, for anything up to $1100 a month. Said room should be able to fit a full-size bed and the fellow occupants should preferably not be crazy.

An even better scenario would be a studio or 1BR in the same price range, for which I would happily sign a lease. Definitely looking for a long-term stay -- while I may be just a wee NYU bum, I have two internships (paid!) and a part-time job and am a dizzyingly hard worker. While it may seem crazy for me to be pleading for an apartment on a blog, I am trying to avoid the whole creepy Craigslist route.

I am typically not this over-sharey, and I don't whine about washing dishes or replenishing TP. Being a student/intern/non-smoker/workaholic, I do enjoy a quiet living environment when I am home. So, for instance, if you're shitfaced with your friends on a Friday night at 3 a.m. and they're saying, "Where to next?," and you know I'm home sleeping like the sweet, adorable baby that I am, please be respectful. I will too! :D:D:D:D In all seriousness: I'm just looking for an affordable, livable space where I can rest my weary head.

I like cats. Little dogs freak me out. But I can learn to love, I am very adaptable.

Also, I need a place by March 1st.

Ok everyone: dig in deep! Whatcha got for "Nate??"

In other news: Our hottie single Park Slope chick Leah has got a couple of verry interesting suitors on the horizon (keep those applications comin)! Our hipster couple found their own damn apartment, thank you very much, and the frat boys' place is still sparkling clean.
