Cool or Not Cool: Leaving your wide open purse and laptop unattended at Starbucks

A friend of FIPS posted this photo on FB with the following commentary:

It always amazes me. Woman walks away (out of sight) for 5 minutes, leaves her purse, her laptop, and all her personal belongings while in a very busy Starbucks.

We know it's a dilemma for those of us who spend hours in Starbucks, the Tea Lounge, Cocoa Bar, wherever, getting our work done when nature calls. Do you leave all your shit unattended and just go for it? Do you ask a seemingly friendly stranger to watch your shit? Do you pick up all your valuables and maybe leave your ratty sweater and coffee cup at your sit so nobody steals your spot? Seems awfully risky to just leave your stuff there, especially right near the door.
