City Might Offer Barclay Center Victims Parking Permits.

Parking in the slope is already a bitch, yet some fear that with Bruce Ratner's revenge the Barclay Center on it's way to completion, shit will get a whole lot worse. The city projects that the new arena, with more than 200 events planned a year, will bring in about 5,000 additional cars into the area. And they're all going to want to park somewhere for free.

FIPS has obtained an exclusive look into what the future of parking in Park Slope area will look like. It ain't pretty.

In response to this text book definition of a "shit show," the City Council has considered drafting a bill that would allow resident-only parking permits during arena-sponsored events. Merchants in the area say the permits could effect foot traffic and thus the livelihood of their businesses, while others are saying the permits will force people coming from outside the area to use public transportation. It's not clear as to how far and wide the permitted area will be.

The city will have to get the state's permission to charge for parking permits. Oh -- and did I forget to mention that you and I would have to pay for them? Well, yeah, we will. But as one resident told New York 1: "I don't know what the cost would be, but it would be worth it."

Can I also just take a moment to comment on how butt-f*cking ugly this thing looks?:
