CELEBRATE BROOKLYN: OUR PICKS FOR THE SEASON

Celebrate Brooklyn's line-up was announced, but since their site is almost completely unnavigable, we'll just give you the highlights of the best of what's next.  We're sweet like that.

Opening night is Friday, June 10.

Like The Temptations told you, get ready.

ANDREW BIRD (6/10)

Celebrate Brooklyn's opening night gala will feature a free-to-the-public concert from Andrew Bird, the lanky indie rock guy who whistles and plays the violin.  I'm being incredibly vague, I know.  This guy sold-out Carnegie Hall.  You should go to this free concert.

THE DECEMBERISTS (6/14)

I could have sworn I had The Decemberists in my iTunes library because I am partial to depressing indie rock produced by people who wear old timey hats, but the three songs that came up were:

1. "A Long December" by The Counting Crows

2. "December 1963 (Oh What a Night)" by Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons

3. "Once Upon a December" from The Anastasia Soundtrack

Embarrassing.  Anyway, you can pick up standing room tickets for about $40.

SUFJAN STEVENS (8/2)

Your grandmother would ask you "What the hell kind of name is SOOF JAN?!" And you probably couldn't answer, especially since this guy is from Detriot. Whatever. Haunting vocals and dreamy eyes—have fun watching your girlfriend swoon over this jerk.  Standing room tickets start at around $43.
