Anne Hathaway is engaged to some Park Slope guy

Breaking news, fellow Park Slopians! Anne Hathaway is getting married! Apparently he’s a decent guy—quite a stretch from her last thieving bastard of an ex -- they’ve lived together in his Park Slope pad for a year and have already adopted a dog together. Totally fool proof.

According to Hathaway, via Sheknows.com, they’ve known each other since 2008 and hit it off back then, but never got together because they both thought the other had significant others. The fact that they both didn’t think to ask if they were spoken for gives them even more compatibility points!

But in all seriousness, it’s nice to hear an engagement story where it appears the people involved actually got to know each other before agreeing to spend their lives together. In sickness and in health, ‘til 50-percent-chance-of-divorce do they part. I haven’t written about a celeb getting married since Kim Kardashian…so I’m definitely rooting for this one to last through…at least winter. But you never know for sure…the cold can make people really cranky; it ruins lives.
