Alleged Food Poisoning from Faros

Image via farosny.comThis just in from a FiPS reader:

I woke up Monday morning with a horrible stomach virus and could not figure out where I caught it. Mystery has just been solved. I received a call from the NYS Dept of Health this morning investigating the Greek restaurant, Faros. Apparently they tracked down my husband's Seamless web order from Faros over the weekend. They wanted to know if either of us had been sick with stomach symptoms after eating food from the restaurant. I was told that they have discovered 60 cases of illness linked to Faros!! I'm totally grossed out.

Ok, so first of all, needless to say, this is one alleged report, from one customer.

Second, of all, YIKES!

I haven't been to Faros myself, but a friend had a tasty meal there recently and urged me to give it a shot. Plus, the Yelp reviews are overwhelmingly positive. We spoke to someone at the Department of Health who would only confirm that there is a "preliminary investigation," and that while some people reported suffering symptoms like diarrhea, some said they didn't have any problems at all. This person also wouldn't say if it's common practice to track seamless.com orders for investigations, but holy shitballs, I guess Big Brother really is watching?!...and knows exactly how often your ass orders delivery.

So, tell us, have you been to Faros recently? Or were you or anyone you know contacted by the Department of Health based on a seamless.com order?
