Jesus Fucking Christ: When Did the Russians Get So Agro?

Back in the 90s when the NY Yankees used to kick everyone's ass and weren't synonymous with failed capitalism and greed, one of my favorite things in the world was to read the Boston newspapers the morning after each fucked-up Redsox bloodbath; I loved listening to the laments of the Boston retards after our physics-defying comebacks broke every heart in their shitty little wannabe city.
Well in the same vein, I've been enjoying reading all the international reactions to Obama's inauguration - that's about as close as I'm gonna get to a Yankee victory for the foreseeable future.
The Brits, Spanish, Auzzies, and Hobbits are all being fantastic! I'm so psyched to have them back on our side again! I can't speak any French or German but I'm sure those guys are happy as well, right? I mean, this is what they've been on about for the last 8 years.
Anyway, I'm not surprised at all to see Iranian intellectuals already burning pictures of Obama for no reason at all, given how advanced their society is, but what does shock me is the motherfucking Russians!
What the FUCK!?
I mean, I know that everyone talks about how our relations have grown frosty over the last few years, but check this shit out - click around a bit and remember that this isn't their VICE magazine we're talking about - Pravda is the real deal, like our earthly Washington Post.

When did the Russians get so agro? Since about (pre-Slav) year 990. Putin is the epotime of the word, "Russia."
That is some big time non-Obama dickriding shit. My fave is "Obama: Republican Scapegoat."
Since Roberts-Obama cannot seem to get the oath completed to anybody's satisfaction (once flubbed by both, second time w/o holy bible) maybe he really isn't or ever will be the real president. Maybe the Ruskies are right.
My bet Cheney is the real president.
I'm not Russian, but when I was hanging out in the former Yugoslavia last year I met a bunch of Americans who had been there and the way they described the country was frightening - like it was devolving.
There's a huge neo-nazi movement happening there and many travel sources suggest that people of colour or "visible ethnicity" either be very fucking careful so as to not get killed or avoid going there altogether. I heard first hand stories of people being robbed and beaten by cops (the dude I spoke to had his arm broken by a police officer before having his wallet stolen by the same cop), rape taking place in plain view and one guy I talked to said some guy tried to sell him military grade weapons.
From what I've heard, Russia is probably the world's largest black market. There's ridiculous corruption and internal strife. A lot of the youth don't think they'll live to 30 so they party and do drugs 7 days a week as a form of escapism. The biggest problem is that the wealth in the country is ridiculously disproportionate. On the one hand there are incredibly filthy rich people who have political/military connections buying teams like Chelsea in the EPL and on the flip side you have people so poor they whore their daughters and live in ghettos without heating. And almost no in between.
What does this have to do with Pravda? Well I wouldn't be surprised if it's been tapped by corruption or influenced by a radical but connected group with political influence for propaganda distribution. Even if it is supposed to represent the highest level of journalism in the country, how can you have anything that's objective and untainted in such a climate? Who's gonna hold anyone accountable? Those with money and influence are probably the one's supporting this perspective and those who are poor and disenfranchised are probably too busy trying to not get raped to give a shit about knowing the "real" Barack Obama.
The Pravda website is an online only, rightist, nationalist tabloid, so no wonder... The current print edition of Pravda is not related to the website and is actually a leftist publication. (Neither of these Pravdas have much to do with the old Communist party paper, which died in 1991.) Mainstream Russian media is much more favorable of President Obama, not unlike their Western European counterparts.
