The Brooklyn Flea's Winter Antiques Pop-Up Market in DUMBO: It's On

Today marked the inaugural launch of the Brooklyn Flea's Winter Antiques Pop-Up Market in DUMBO, and FIPS was there to catch some of the action.

The Pop-Up Market is located at 76 Front St. (@Washington Street) in Dumbo, and will be kickin it for the next 12 weeks (until March 29th) from 11-6pm.

Here's why we dug the market:

*It's inside - in case you haven't noticed, its cold as shit out there. So its nice to have a fun flea-esque place to shop during the winter that's warm-n-cozy.

*There is a rotating group of vendors - continuing the Flea's tradition of always mixin it up, the Pop-Up market will feature a rotating cast of vendors each week (this was one of the main reasons I always liked to go back to the Flea...it was always so much fun to see who/what we might find).

*It's well edited - Though the space is nicely sized, its not gargantuan. But again, I think the Flea folks have done a kickass job putting together the right mix of vendors, ensuring that there's not too much or too little of any one category. And, as always, the quality of the merch featured was quite high.

I desperately wanted to buy 4 or 5 things at the vintage jewelry table that was immediately to the left as you entered (but didn't) as well as this kickass 60's lamp that they had. There were also some fab vintage furniture pieces and a great vintage clothing/coats vendor in the far corner.

I did miss the excellente food vendors, but in a space that size, there's probably just no way around that.

Besides, if you plan it right and go early to the Market, you might even be able to snag a table at Grimaldi's up the block for lunch (though even on this snowy day, there was a line down the street at 1:30pm).

Anyway, thumbs up on the Winter Antiques Pop-Up Market!
