With a new "Road House-esque" Resaurant, Will the Ghost of Patrick Swayze Float Around 5th Ave?
Apparently the new restaurant from the Talde Trio, set to replace Aunt Suzie’s this spring, will be channeling the Oscar-screwed 1989 film, Road House. You know, the movie where the NYU grad played by Patrick Swayze elevates the art of bouncing by practicing Zen-inspired life philosophies, just prior to him ripping out a guy’s esophagus and dispatching all his enemies from God’s Green Missouri?
According to Grub Street, the still un-named mysterious bar/eatery will “be a Patrick-Swayze-in-Roadhouse feel (think: chicken wire), and the place is going to be ‘very mullet-friendly.’”
Beatery?
Also they “plan to offer pitchers of beer, ‘cheap whiskey,’ and ‘really chill bar food’ till 2 a.m., seven days a week. And this one won't lean Asian.”
Does this mean Adam’s Apple Pie? Will Sam Elliott be sitting at the bar, urging folks to drink Coors? Can I park a monster truck there? Will Kelly Lynch be stitching people up at Methodist, sans local anesthetic? So many questions.
But who cares… they had me at “cheap whiskey.”
As for you FIPS readers, what kind of bar food are we lacking in these here parts?
