Who Gives A Shit: Is Your Hot New Baby Car seat Gonna Get Stolen?
This week in Brooklynian's forum, a parent-to-be posed a burning question that I am only mildly interested in because I was lacking a story for this slot: DO PEOPLE STEAL BABY CAR SEATS? I mean, we know that thieves are swiping our laptops, iPhones and puppies in this neighborhood. But are they breaking car windows to steal things regarding the safety of a baby? One woman, whose profile picture features a child smoking a cigarette, wonders just that:
Brooklynian commenter Superclam says nope, they're not. But they are stealing Juicy Fruit.
There wasn't much more on the Brooklynian forum, so I looked around to see if there were any reported cases of stolen baby car seats. I found the following on Baby Center's community page:
But wait -- is it a theft, seeing as the person who took it wasn't stealing it for use, but saving a baby from potentially being placed in a mildew-covered car seat that's been exposed to outside elements for a month?
So no thefts to report. Except for the gum.
