WHO GIVES A SHIT: Have You Ever Had An iPhone Stolen in Park Slope?
You guys send us tips...and that rocks. Keep doing it please.
But lately we've been getting an increasing number of tips about people who have had their iphones stolen while casually walking around the leafy streets of Park Slope. And today I got one about a chick who had her phone stolen RIGHT THE FUCK near my apartment:
"I was just witness to an iPhone robbery on 8th Ave & Union Street tonight. The attack happened around 10pm this evening. The young lady was walking down Union Street and had her iPhone out connected to her headsets. She wasn't listening to music at the time, but in the middle of sending a text message and the perpetrator ran up to her, grabbed her iPhone and then ran into a car - and then took off. There was a driver in the car waiting for him, so this action was presumably planned and he was looking for any victim that was off his/her guard. I'm posting this because Park Slope has been in the news with the latest attacks happening further down in South Slope, this occurred right in the heart of North Slope - so everyone should be on the look out and aware of their surroundings. Thankfully in this case the victim was not hurt and her iPhone is replaceable, but another victim may not be as lucky. Everyone should be on alert at all times, I myself forget to be on my guard at all times, so sometimes being witness to this is just a reminder."
Ok, wtf is going on around here, ppl?! Are we just focusing on this stuff more now cause of all the sexual assualt stuff? Like have the same number of iphones been stolen this month as there were 6 months ago and we're just all talking about crime more now? Cause I'm kind of starting to feel like I need a goddamned escort to walk me to and from the subway every day back to my overpriced Park Slope apt.
We had that little iPhone bike thief ish back last December...and I'm seeing more reports of cell phone thefts around the city. And who can forget my imugging? But is this all hype? Have you ever had an iPhone stolen around here?
