White Collar Production Company Makes Good to Slope Residents
Posted by: Effed in Park Slope | Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 2:00PM
As we reported two weeks ago, the USA Networks show, White Collar, was filiming here on 8th Avenue and President Street for over a week. While passersby and looky-loos were ogling Matt Bomer, the residents of President Street between 7th and 8th were subjected to a lot of disruption from the crew. According to our tipster:
They had their generators on in front of our homes non-stop from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. The noise was unbearably loud.
While many people lodged complaints, one smart President street dweller approached the head of production and pleaded for some consideration, and gently suggested that a donation to the block association would go a long way. As is often the case, killing them with kindness worked out, and not only did they get that nice donation (expect a banner block party this year, folks), but the prodcution company went one step further, and provided three free hours of a Van Leeuwen ice cream truck for all the kids on the block this past Saturday afternoon. Well done, White Collar. Maybe we'll even watch your show now.
