WHERE TO VOLUNTEER THIS WEEKEND FOR SANDY RELIEF EFFORTS

Who gives a shit!? Y'all do.

It's been really touching to see, hear, and participate in some of the volunteer efforts going on now to help in the Sandy recovery efforts around these parts and the rest of Brooklyn. You seriously rock, Park Slope!

There's still lots of opportunity to pitch in an help out this weekend folks, so let's keep it up.

PARK SLOPE ARMORY

There's lots going on at the Park Slope Armory and many volunteers are needed for both day and night shifts. However, their needs change very quickly, and so follow us on Twitter for the latest updates re: what's needed in the way of both supplies/volunteers. Or, just walk on over and ask someone! The latest request has been for "lots of L & XL Sweats (sweat pants & sweat shirts). Unopened packs of socks & underwear."

"We just stopped by Stephen Levin's office (410 Atlantic Ave) to drop off some stuff. They said they could really use toiletries so they can put together care packages for people in the Rockaways and Breezy Point. They're open until 5:30 today."

To donate food and flashlights to the Rockaway Waterfront Alliance, contact them at 917-975-5623. To help transport donated items to shelters in The Rockaways and South Brooklyn, contact councilmember Steve Levin's office at 718-875-5200.
