Where To Have A Phat Fat Tuesday

If you're in the Slope, and you're trying to cobble together some kind of Mardi Gras celebration this week, I'm sorry to tell you that your options are limited. Your choices appear to be: (1) Two Boots; or (2) leave the neighborhood.
Two Boots might be a great option, but I wouldn't know. The only two times I've been there have been on weekends, where it appeared to be "Divorced Dad" night. I guess the restaurants lets kids play with dough to keep them occupied, and when you're going through your mid-life crisis, you're never going to meet your new wife at Chuck E. Cheese. How was the food, though? I don't remember. I just remember that one of the two boots is Louisiana, so you've got a fighting chance of getting a Mardi Gras pizza at Two Boots.
Ugh.
That having been said, Two Boots is actually doing something for Mardi Gras. They've got music (including "Swamp Boogie," whatever the fuck that is), and their website advertises "Mardi Gras beads." So, if you're prepared to show your tits to strangers in Brooklyn on Tuesday, I guess Two Boots is the place to go.
If you're willing to venture out of The Slope, you could also go to Dean Street, in Prospect Heights. Their year-round menu is "cajun inspired," so if you're looking for a po' boy, or barbequed oysters, you'll definitely eat well at Dean Street. They're also doing a special Mardi Gras celebration on the 12th, and since the restaurant was voted one of the best places to eat alone in NYC, I think you could safely show up for Mardi Gras and have a good time, even if you don't have a gaggle of drunken revelers in tow.
So, what did we miss? Did we miss any places in the neighborhood that'll make you a decent hurricane and serve you some crawfish étoufée?
