What's The Deal with Keith Hernandez "Magic Loogie" Bobbleheads?

Image via brooklyncyclones.comTwenty-Five years ago this July 5th, a show named The Seinfeld Chronicles premiered. Despite low ratings, the NBC picked it up for a short first season that aired in 1990 as simply Seinfeld. Yadda, yadda, yadda, and this July 5th the Brooklyn Cyclones are giving away Keith Hernandez “Magic Loogie” bobbleheads to the first 2,500 attendees in celebration of Seinfeld’s anniversary.
The bobblehead captures Keith Hernandez’s appearance on the Seinfeld episode in which he bickers with Kramer and Newman over a “magic loogie” incident (a riff on Oliver Stone’s JFK and its “magic bullet”) and then hooks up with Elaine. Right down to the mullet.
But that’s only the beginning of the shit they’re doing for Seinfeld Night at Vandelay Industries Park (as MCU Park will be renamed for the evening). There will be Elaine dancing, cereal eating and whale’s blow hole golf contests. If you’re more of a Kramer or a Newman, there will be Risk on the Concourse. If you’re a mailman, like Newman, wear your uniform and you can throw out the first pitch along with other uniformed colleagues. After the game, everyone gets to run the bases but people named “Jerry” get a head start, which doesn’t really matter in this scenario because it’s not a race. Good thing it’s not.
Sounds like the Cyclones are trying to make this a Seinfeld fan’s wet dream. Or a really terrible evening for anyone who strongly dislikes Seinfeld. For the full details, check out the Cyclone’s Seinfeld Night page.
