What's Going On With The Key Food on 11th & 5th?

If you know me (which you don't) you know that I am fundamentally opposed to Jo, Brian & Joseph's Key Food on the corner of 11th and 5th.

The employees are categorically surly, I hate that little alcove with the creepy steps where they keep the beer and I find that the shelves are too high for me to do most of my shopping (I can't reach about 80% of the things I would actually want to purchase). I also don't know who Jo, Brian OR Joseph is, but I can tell you that if I were them, I would be embarrassed as heck to have a grocery store named after me. And a tiny shitty one that smells of something terrible yet indistinguishable at that.

Sometimes though, you just need some almond milk (I know, I'm sorry for how obnoxious that sounds) and on the way home from the subway, you want to stop and pick some up. BUT THEN you get to JBJ only to find that it is closed "for two or three days," or so says the sign on the gate.

Last week, I arrived to a sign that said the store would be closed "until November." I peeked through the gates and the store looks totally creepy...like everyone stopped what they were doing and ran out. The power is turned off and there's still a box of Entenmann's donuts near one of the register.

You don't abandon a box of Entenmann's donuts ever, so I think something pretty catastrophic happened.

Does anyone have any information? Are they closed forever? Where are the employees? And most importantly IS ALL OF THE FOOD STILL IN THERE WITH THE POWER OFF? I think maybe there's a smell coming out of there but I could be imagining it?
