WHASSUP: Shit Goin' on This Weekend & Beyond
Japandroids at Siren 2009 (*insert Bikini Island reference*) by Jonathan McPhail.
Since you all pack your social calendars miraculously far in advance, here's a heads up on some of the stuff happening in and around the Slope this weekend and early next week. Feel free to add your own haps in the comments, and, please, invite us all to your buddy's rooftop party without his consent.
*Saturday, July 17: Siren Fest. Not that this is news to any of you all, but if you're planning on dealing with humanity on Saturday, here's the lineup. It's free, so you can spend all of your money on booze and the public drunkenness summons with which you'll get stuck.
*Sunday, July 18: Flashwalk. The second-annual five-borough-plus-Jersey walk covers 43 miles, and takes 14 hours. So, if you're feeling particularly masochistic on Sunday, the crew's meeting up at Grand Army Plaza @ 6am. Route details and the answer to "Why in the hell are people doing this?" here.
*Tuesday, July 20: Feast of Music. Alan Licht, Noveller, Fair Use, Kathleen Supové @ Littlefield on Degraw between Third and Fourth Aves. Details here, and remember, FIPS is not responsible for any trouble you get into west of Fourth Ave.
Anything else, gang?
