We're All In This Together: CABLE-N-INTERNET

Have you ever wondered how any of your annonying monthly bills compare to other people's annoying monthly bills? Well we did. This week we're tackling: CABLE.

Trust me: I realize that I'm one of the chosen people. And I'm not talking about being Jewish...I'm talking about living in Park Slope and having Verizon FIOS. And so I know that my cable bill may look nothing like many of YOUR cable bills. But, still the whole thing got me curious.

We all pay scads of dough to many of the same utilities and I'm wondering if any of our asses are getting jacked!? So I thought we could have a big ole Park Slope show-and-tell and kick things off with our cable/internet bills.

Above you will see a pic of mine (for the record, our monthly total is $177.80). We don't have any phone stuff included. As it turns out, we could seemingly add phone for just a few bucks, but what they don't mention is that all of the fees/taxes you end up paying on it lands you more around the $15-$20 zone. Also, we live in N. Slope, for GPS purposes.

Ok, so your turn ppl.

While I'm especially interested in what you other Park Slope btchz are paying, all you other NYC folks can feel free to join in too, so that we can compare and contrast the levels to which we are each being ripped off (or not).

So leave us the breakdown of your bill in the comments, including: which cable/internet provider you have, and generally where you live in Park Slope or elsewhere. And pls give us the full blow-by-blow (i.e. instead of saying "taxes and fees = $12.34, I'd love to see line by line WHICH taxes and fees you're each paying and how much they are individually). This way you'll know whether or not your neighbor *actually* deserves a beatdown for completely skirting the $1.80/mo PEG grant fee that you've been paying like a bitch ass bitch all these years.

*Also, stay tuned in the coming weeks as we tackle other utilities and bills such as: gas, electricity, cell phones, insurance, gym memberships, etc. We're all in this together!
