We Got An EGOT Here In Park Slope!

Photo credit: Kevin Winter/Getty Images via billboard.comIn the third hour of what must have been one of the longest Oscar ceremonies in recent history,* Park Slope's Robert Lopez and his wife Kristin Anderson Lopez, won Best Original Song for "Let It Go," from Frozen, making Bobby (can we call you Bobby?) the 12th member of the exclusvie club of EGOT winners.** Not only that, but according to Broadway.com, he also broke the record for how quickly someone has accrued all four awards -- he did it in 10 years, while the previous record holder, Rita Moreno, did in 16.
So, how did Lopez reach this lofty goal? He won an Emmy in 2008 for his work on several episodes of Nickelodeon show Wonder Pets, the Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album for Book of Mormon, several Tonys for his work on both Avenue Q and Book of Mormon, and now Oscar for that song you hear every Park Slope parent humming while waiting in line at the Coop because their daughter plays it on repeat non-stop.
Congrats to both Bobby and Kristin!
* Can someone explain why exactly we had to sit through Wind Beneath My Wings AFTER the In Memoriam was over? I mean, I love me some Bette Midler, but what the fuck??
** People who have won an Emmy, a Grammy, a Tony, and an Oscar.
