Volunteer This Saturday To Turn A Crappy Bergen Lot Into A Beautiful Community Garden!
Though there are many great advantages to living in a city (bountiful restaurant options, sex toy delivery), there are some fun things that we miss out on due to the sheer volume of buildings and pavement. Good star gazing, for example. And gardening.
Lucky for you, a group of local New Yorkers have been given permission by the city to transform an abandoned lot on Bergen Street into a community garden. But they need our help to make this shit happen!
Feedback Farms - A Small Green Patch would like to invite you to dig in! We need your hands, shovels, rakes to help level out the lots with the dirt that was delivered on Tuesday, March 20!
People should arrive between 9 - 10am. We will work until about 1pm, and people are welcome to show up when they are able to!
We suggest you bring/wear boots, clothes you don't mind getting dirty, work gloves, a hat, sunscreen, water and a snack or two to keep your energy up! Do you have a car? We need help delivering materials from the Shop to the Lot's! Call 917.676.7819 for more details on delivery needs. The lots are located on Bergen Street between 4th Avenue and 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn. We look forward to working with you! - Clare, Kallie, Tom, Gregory and Tami
Activities will include picking up trash, leveling out ground and moving dirt, building in-ground storage for tools, hanging and painting plywood along the community lot, and building raised planters. So if you're free this weekend, or don't mind breaking plans to help out your community, please consider pitching in! Once again, the deets are:
WHEN: Saturday, March 24th from 9AM-1PM
WHERE: Bergen between 3rd and 4th Avenue
WHO: You. And me. And everyone we know.
