Trouble At the Arias?

Just to refresh your memories, the Arias is that fancy, full-amenity doorman building on 4th Ave we've been writing about here and there. Personally, I've been fully mesmerized by the idea of having my own roof cabana and haven't paid attention to much else at the building. However this anon FIPS reader is wondering if they're selling their souls to the devil for a yoga room and a roofdeck:

Yo, FIPS. Have you heard about any shadiness going on at the Arias? Cause my wife and I signed a lease there for a 2 bedroom apt, and now we're a little freaked. After everything was signed, sealed and delivered I got a call from the leasing agent that there was an error on our lease and we needed to re-sign it. When I got the doc, I noticed this line: "The starting Rent and Surcharges are: Rent $7930.00 per month payable at the rate of $4640.00 per month." When I asked wtf this meant, we got some song and dance about how the owners want to "make their portfolio look better" so they're asking everyone to sign these leases so that they can somehow claim that that's the actual rent for the place? The chick we talked to tried to make it seem like everyone who's moved into the building has done this and it was no big deal. I don't know...seems odd and shady to me. We were also told last minute that oops! All the storage is full so now we can't put any of our shit down there. I was going to bring my bike back from my parents house when we got another breaking alert: no more room in the bike room. Now I'm worried they're going to be like: sorry, you can't bring your dog either. Anyway, we're totally freaked and wondering if we should abandon ship. Have you heard about anyone else who's had any problems there?

Anyone else have some Arias scoop? What the hell's going on there?
