TONIGHT AT THE BELL HOUSE: THE WONDER CITY RELEASE PARTY & ARTSY PEOPLE MEET-UP
Posted by: Effed in Park Slope | Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 10:30AM
So tonight's the night FIPS'sters. Get your asses on out to the Bell House. In case you didn't read last week's post or see all the posters plastered all over the hood, FIPS, along with Bergen Street Comics and Kickstarter, is sponsoring The Wonder City Book Release Party and Comic Creator Meet-Up. TONIGHT @ 7PM. Admission is FREE!
Here are the things you'll be able to do at said event:
- Drink!
- Talk about the comics you're reading/working on.
- Make fun of people who are talking about comics they're reading/working on (there will be plenty of non-comic nerds there).
- Get your fortunes told for free by your very own shaman that we hired for the evening. Here she is.
- Buy your very own copy of The Wonder City, the first volume in a graphic novel series that intertwines the secret mythology of New York City with a centuries-old mystery. It was also a successfully-funded Kickstarter project, so creators Justin Rivers (A FIPS contributor!) and Courtney Zell will be in attendance to say thank you in person for making the book a reality. Copies of The Wonder City will be available at the party!
- Have an idea for an art project you want to raise money for and want Kickstarter to back it? Someone from Kickstarter will be there to hear you out.
- And most importantly, you can win some cool shit, like a custom-made bike rack from Brooklyn-based Gowanus Furniture Company and other great prizes.
- Lastly, Lush Comics will be on hand to sign you up for turning your comics into ipad and iphone apps.
- Drink!
Come on down. Stay for 3 hours, stay for 20 minutes. That's up to you. But we better see you there!
