The PPW Bike Lane And its 100th Lawsuit (or so it feels like it)

Once again using the their trademark trickery, the Neighbors for Better Bike Lanes are causing drama over the Prospect Park West bike lane. At the moment, they're claiming that the judge who dismissed their intitial lawsuit to remove the beloved bike lane on Prospect Park West has "committed errors," and that the ruling "should be reversed."

You will all remember that the NBBL and Seniors for Safety -- who want to see the bike lane gone -- didn't get their shit together in time to file the lawsuit within the statute of limitations after the lanes were installed. And because they have to operate within the laws of common sense, like everyone else, they now have to make up reasons to appeal. According to the Brooklyn Paper the reactions have been predictable:

'It’s like arguing about contraception: it’s already here — and everybody’s using it,' said bike-boosting neighbor Mitch Sonies. 'They should get a life.'

A very timely and accurate observation, Mitch. We agree. 

These guys are obviously a text-book example of what it means to be sore losers. Bike Lane bestie Eric McClure in his long standing tradition of saying it best, said it best: "It's kinda sad."

The City's Law Counsil said that is was confident the court would uphold it's decision even in the event of an appeal. Not to mention that EVERYBODY likes the bike lane (well, mostly everybody. Minus the sore losers).
