Cool Or Not Cool: Canceling Potentially Upsetting Movie Screenings in the Wake of Tragedy?

For the sake of this post, I’m going to assume that everyone is aware of the recent, incredibly horrific tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary, and just get right down to the nitty gritty of this thing.

We recently received an email from an irate BAM member, who was upset that the organization cancelled recent screenings of John Waters' Female Trouble and Silent Night Bloody Night out of respect for the victims of Newtown, Connecticut. When this particular BAM member asked why the screenings were cancelled during a film series meant to depict “dark visions of the holiday season,” this was the reply that he received:

Jimmy Kimmel Live is Coming to BAM!

Jimmy Kimmel Live, also known as "Our Favorite Place to Watch Celebrities Read Mean Tweets About Themselves," is coming to BAM this fall for a 5-day engagement! Here are the deets, via Iota:

David Byrne Designs Sweet bike racks for BAM

Talking Heads frontman and bike lane enthusiast David Byrne has paired up with Dero Bike Racks to design some unconventional yet interesting bike racks for BAM. Currently, the two existing racks read "Pink Power" and "Micro Lip" (your guess is as good as mine), though BAM will be reaching out via social media outlets to get recommendations for more possible phrases. Since there is a limit to the amount of letters that are friendly for the purposes of a bike rack, it might be a good idea to stick with suggestions using only the letters of the existing two (M, I, C, R, O, L, P, N, K, W and E). Here are our top FiPS picks:
