Show Me Yours: 3-bedroom on Third Street

SHOW ME YOURS is a recurring column in which we do two things: show you Park Slope real estate and tell you how much it is. That's pretty much it!

Here's our latest Park Slope pad:

* Location: Third Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues (the double-wide block)

* Type: 3 bedroom, 2 bath

* Cost: about $1000/month because I have one of those crazy interest-only mortgages, plus $962 maintenance. Before re-fi, was $5,000/month total.

* Rent or Own: Own

* Sq. Footage: Approx. 1200

* How did you find this place?: I stalked this block for more than a year before I finally came across one of these apartments that needed no work -- and then bid $60,000 over asking to get it. The size of the apartment was perfect for me, and the location can't be beat.

* Amenities: It's that "location, location, location" thing: 2 blocks from park, 1 block from P.S. 321, 2 blocks from the fancy new park on Fifth Avenue, the farmer's market on Fifth Avenue, and hey, that Whole Foods is finally gonna open on Third Avenue later this year! Also: W/D, D/W plus really high ceilings and lots of original woodwork: nice and grand, without feeling like you live in a wedding cake.

* Who calls this place home?: A media executive, her nine-year-old son, and a very lovable cat (no dogs in this building).

* What's really good about this joint?: The quiet, the calm, the light (windows in every room), the fireplace (!!), the neighbors, the big living room and dining room with their pocket doors, and tons of storage (I put in about five new bookshelves).

* What's really bad about this joint?: The second bathroom has a step-up shower, which is strange. And two of the bedrooms are very small, but they do what they have to.

We've said it before and we'll say it again: We need submissions to continue to make this shit not boring, so if you've got a Park Slope pad that you want to share, send photos and apartment info (location, cost of rent/mortgage, amenities, your occupation and answers to questions above) to effedinparkslope at gmail dot com.

We're not looking to show off killer design or ridiculously expensive furniture...so don't feel intimidated if your place isn't in next month's Elle Decor. In fact, your place can be a total shitbox. It's really all about keeping track of how much apartments cost around here and what you get for your money.  Of course you can remain anonymous if you want, thus avoiding all of the stalkerazzi that would likely result from your brush with greatness.

KIDDING!

MOSTLY!

Keep track of all of our past SHOW ME YOURS' here.
