Park Slope WTF: Did gunshots ring out on Monday night?

Yesterday morning our email box was inundated flooded lightly peppered with emails from Park Slope residents who claimed to hear gunshots ring out in the nabe on Monday night:
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this to you guys, but I heard what sounded like 5 gunshots not far from where I live at 8th Ave and 10th Street last night around 4:15am. Two shots, followed by what sounded like something spilling (similar to the sound of a bucket of water being tossed on the sidewalk), and then a minute later, 3 more. I wasn't really sure what I heard, and there were no voices or sirens, so I went back to bed, but this morning a few people on Twitter have reported hearing them too.

 Anyone have ANY idea what happened?
