PARK SLOPE v. MANHATTAN, MUSIC VENUE POLL
Two of my favorite spots in the 'hood--and two of the prime reasons I leave Park Slope, like, once every two weeks (SLIGHT exaggeration)--are up for citywide props in a Metromix NY's poll for awesomest live music venue.
The Bell House, last year's winner, and the Park Slope Band Shell go drum-head-to-drum-head against some Manhattan spots like Bowery Ballroom, Mercury Lounge and Webster Hall. This shit ends the 27th. So if you, like this blogger, wait until the last minute--put in your votes NOW.
Personally, I think it's pretty awesome that Park Slope can claim 2/5ths of the candidates, and the only ones from Brooklyn.
Sorry, Williamsburg Music Hall: your eerie resemblance to Bowery wasn't enough to get you parity. Sorry, um, wherever the hell people in Queens go. Park Slope is it, the only 'hood in the only outer borough that counts for live music. And it counts twice. According to this extremely unscientific polling mechanism.
Also, the Bandshell. Swoon. Please come soon, summer.
