"Obama's Speech Got Me Thinking..."

Yet again, let me state for the record: I fucking LOVE the shit out of the Brooklynian forum...for exactly this reason: I was innocently scrolling through the post topics last night, curious what was on the minds of the good people of Park Slope. I then came across the above titled post: "Obama's Speech Got Me Thinking..."

Ok, cuil...I'm game. So, I click on it, prepared to read about how President Obama's inspiring words the other night have prompted this fresh-faced poster to join the Peace Corp or donate her eyes to a blind woman, but instead I found this:

"...So, my fellow brooklynians, any get-rich schemes for 2009?"

WOW...a-w-e-s-o-m-e.

And it even gets better:

"I've thought of distilling my own booze, starting a blog with ads, etc... but I'd be curious what you all come up with. Thought about escorting, but you know, that good catholic girl inside won't let me! Thoughts"

The whole thread really is a non-miss as everyone really seems to be offering young katieslope some great ideas (like cash 4 old!). But this one from mantic really seemed to sum things up pretty darn well:

"Three things that will be profitable in the coming months as things get worse: Liquor, Loans and Drugs.

Whoring is not profitable in bad times as you will end up using your profits in at least 2 of the above.
"

Keep hope alive, motherfuckers...change has come.

Last year, I ran a sports blog that turned into a multi-hundred dollar enterprise. I had a lot of fun and made enough money to buy everyone's Christmas gifts that year.

I also did online surveys during school for extra side-cash. It was relatively easy...I would just click through as fast as possible and get $5 at the end. The bad part is, the survey companies make you do a lot of free surveys before they offer you paid ones, so your net hourly rate ends up being pretty low.
