NY Philharmonic Yanking Outdoor Concerts? 

We recently received this email from a FIPS reader:

I got this message from John Langan from the Prospect Park Alliance:   "As you may have heard, the New York Philharmonic is unfortunately unable to present its free concerts in the Parks this summer -- including Prospect Park. This is very disappointing, of course, and we are hopeful the Philharmonic will be able to resume their performances next year." No explanation.  I checked the website for the Philharmonic and there was not a word about it.  

Bum. Mer. 
Anyone have the scoop?
