[My Favorite Park Slope...] Place to Get Pampered on the Cheap.
[Yo, we like lots of shit in Park Slope, and this is where we're gonna talk about it all. Got a fave Park Slope somethin somethin? Email us and let us know, who, what, where, or why you love someone or something in Park Slope as hard as you do.]
I debated not writing about my favorite Park Slope nail salon for fear that my Saturday ritual of Gorilla coffee + manicure would be ruined due to overpopulation...but alas, it's all for the love of the nabe.
If I'm not mistaken there are roughly 367 Q Spa's in Park Slope but friends, don't be fooled. You need to hit up the one on 5th ave between Park Place and Prospect Place. They are not fucking around.
So why this particular nail salon? First of all, it's like Asian Steel Magnolias in there. Everyone is eavesdropping, and you get the occasional tidbit of advice from the friendly neighborhood nail tech. But that's not the best part. I've been a long time believer that my own nails are not something I have a handle on. When I found out that I can have perfect nails all the time for $8 DOLLARS, I decided to never go back to "regular nails." And for you cheap skates: If $8 is out of your budget, you can get a polish change for only $5 bucks. A pedicure is $18 and I think the combo of mani and pedi is like, $22 Monday - Wednesday.
Also on the list are blowouts, baking, and DIY waxing...
ProTip: Get the 10 minute back massage added on to your mani...Tina's got oxen-like power in those fingers and you won't regret it.
Q Spa All Stars: Ask for Tina, Koko, or Joyce. They'll hook your ass up.
