Image via http://spacemanmills.tumblr.com/On Sunday January 5th, a horrific mugging occurred on Park Place between 6th and 7th, as noted in an email sent to members of the block association:
A serious mugging took place on Park Place Sunday evening around 10 pm between 6th and 7th aves. An unidentified woman was walking up the block towards 6th when she was grabbed from behind, pushed into a car, repeatedly hit in the face, and robbed. She sustained multiple lacerations. Police responded, asked many questions, but have made no arrests. We all know the message here--be very aware.
Pushed into a car. Holy. Fuck.
Since then, the woman posted the above note to thank the neighbors who came to her aid in the moments following the incident, to let them know she's doing okay, and to ask anyone who might have seen something to please call the 78th precinct.
Stay safe out there, people.
