Lauren Graham wrote a book and we're giving it away!

Calling all hardcore Gilmore Girls fans: Lauren Graham has a book out. You know what that means? Lorelai from “Gilmore Girls” has a book out! Either way, this actress has tried her fast fingers at writing and we have two copies of Someday, Someday Maybe to give away to lucky FIPS readers.

Interested in getting your paws on one of Graham’s books? Write a comment below with your idea of how Lorelai would handle living in Park Slope. Okay, you can give ideas for Sarah Braverman too. The top two comments will be posted, published and given a pretty Graham book to keep! Deadlione is May 1st at 5pm.

Is the book good? Uh, we don't know. Does it matter? We don’t pick up a book from Lauren Graham for it’s literary genius. We pick it up because we want to imagine Lorelai’s voice reading it in our heads. We come to this book for the same reason we watch Gilmore Girls (for hours at a time, consuming season after season of an imperfectly perfect town and an unbelievable perfect family, even if the dad isn’t around). We want the witty banter and the happy endings. It’s like candy. We know it isn’t good for us, but we love it anyway.

A little bit about the book: Graham’s novel follows the life of a struggling Broadway actress who’s trying to make it in New York. She also lives in a “crumbling brownstone” in Park Slope, for which three roommates pay $500 each. The apartment is supposedly a two-story, two-bath joint in which a couple of struggling actresses dwell. The story set waaaay back in 1995, but that rent seems pretty damn low -- was it really that cheap to live here in 1995? Fun Fact for new-ish Slope-dwellers: The D train used to run to 7th Ave. #authenticity

Can Melissa McCarthy (a.k.a. Sookie) write a book now? I'd read the shit out of that.
