J. Crew Coming to Park Slope??

Yesterday, Racked dropped the bombshell that J. Crew will be opening a Park Slope location in August (along with a Williamsburg location and a long-rumored Cobble Hill store). Whut the whut?! Apparently, this tidbit was hidden in a WWD profile of Bird owner Jennifer Mankins. She is buddy-buddy with J. Crew chairman and CEO Mickey Drexler, who is quoted in the feature story:

"Jen's my Williamsburg connection. She's probably one of the reasons we're opening there," Drexler told the paper. Sounds like an independent boutique is inadvertently ushering in national chains. WWD adds: "The two still have lunch on the regular, when she brings the self-proclaimed 'Manhattan-centric' Drexler to the cool restaurants in Brooklyn."

The Williamsburg location seems to be set for Wythe Avenue, down the street from the incoming Whole Foods. No word on the Slope location. Got any guesses?
