HERE'S PARK SLOPE: My Lucky Lou's & Muni-Meters
IMAGE VIA HERES PARK SLOPE
Hey folks, Dan here from that other Park Slope blog, Here's Park Slope, with this week's Week in Review. And if you've got friends in Williamsburg or Greenpoint, tell them that starting Monday they'll get their very own blogs, called, what else, Here's Williamsburg and Here's Greenpoint!
On Monday, news broke that a new bar and grill will be moving into the space last occupied by Kohzee Cafe, on Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street. Their website claims that they're "already attracting critical acclaim, both locally and nationally," even though they haven't even opened yet. Now that's impressive!
I had a chance to check out the new men's and women's clothing boutique called Rivet on Tuesday, which opened last Friday on Seventh near Union. Pricey, but good quality merchandise. Also, Chiles and Chocolate, the Oaxacan restaurant also on Seventh near Union, will be opening up a second outpost soon, in Chelsea.
Walked past the new cafe headed for Seventh Avenue near 14th Street on Wednesday, and it seems to be coming along nicely. The menu is up on their website, as well. Plywood is already up at the space last occupied by Fatoosh on Fifth near Ninth Street, and new Muni-Meters are being installed all throughout the neighborhood to go along with the price hikes.
I took a peek inside the space on Seventh Ave near Eighth Street that will soon be home to the Italian sandwich shop from Crespella's owners on Thursday, and it's looking very impressive. Fresh on Fifth, the teen-centric women's clothing boutique on Fifth between 11th and 12th, also closed up shop.
And on Friday, I published some photos of Top Chef contestant Mark Simmons' new New Zealand-inspired restaurant, opening next week on Union near Seventh, along with the first photos of the food itself. Also, that hat shop I first told you about a couple weeks ago that's coming to Fifth Avenue near Union has put up some temporary signage.
Enjoy the lovely weekend!
