[GETTIN' IT RIGHT]: BARK

Gettin' It Right is our semi-regularish column where we call out a Park Slope biz that deserves an online pat on the ass for doing something that's not totally fucking stupid. Today's nominee: BARK!
When you order Chinese food delivery, it usually takes around 4 minutes for your food to arrive. But when you order from anywhere else, you're usually waiting around like a chump. But we all know this, and for some restaurants, sitting around like a chump is worth the wait cause the food is so damn good.
I would put Bark squarely in this category.
But now in addition to being in love with their hot diggity dogs, I'm also in love with their customer service. Here's why:
A few weekends ago, Greg ordered up a late lunch from Bark for delivery. They told us it would take approximately 45 mins. 40 mins in to our 45 min wait, he gets a phone call from Bark from their friendly neighborhood hot dog operator. They let us know that they had an unexpected hiccup with their delivery guy and were very apologetic. They further explained that we could either choose to place our order again and have it delivered at no charge (b/c they didn't want us getting the food that had already been sitting around in a to-go container), or they'd cancel our order and give us a credit for next time. And let me be clear: Greg didn't suggest they give him his order gratis, Bark did.
WHOA.
This delivery delay has happened to me several other times with several other local restaurants (I'm looking at you Tomato-n-Basil), and basically after hours of waiting and hours of excuses, when I asked if they could offer me a simple discount for the inconvenience, I was basically told to go fuck myself.
Greg decided to reorder his food, and we were told it would be another 45 minutes. No problemo.
Our free food arrived during that 45 min window, and THEN they called us a 2nd time just to make sure we got our food and to apologize AH-GAIN.
Needless to say, my socks were completely knocked off.
And so, hats off to you, Bark. Your customer service is even better than your delicious black and white shakes.
