FiPS Round-up: 4 Neighborhood Happy Hours

Since we here at FIPS are often in need of beverage-variety lubrication yet lack the financial prosperity of Wall Street Titans, we’re always on the lookout for good drinking deals. This week we're highlighting four different Park Slope eateries and bars who currently have some decent happy hour deals going on.

1. TWO BOOTS (514 2nd Street)

There aren’t many places to wet one’s whistle in Northeast Park Slope.  Two Boots, which aspires to be half-Italian, half-New Orleans, is an exception to the rule.  In addition to a big dining area and large outdoor patio, there’s a small bar up front with an interesting assortment of neighborhood locals. While there are no happy hour specials on food, you can get $1 off all dinks on M-F from 4-6 p.m., plus a special late-night happy hour from 7-9PM on Tuesdays.

2. PARK SLOPE ALE HOUSE (356 6th Avenue)

There are only a few places to throw back a bev along 6th St. in the Northern half of the Slope.  PSAH has that classic old school New York bar look & feel, though the service and food can be hit or miss.  But there are no complaints about the 3-hour happy hour each day from 4-7 p.m. This is the place to go on a Tuesday evening, where happy hour runs all night PLUS -- they have 50 cent wings. Now that’s what we’re talking about!

3. CYPRESS AVENUE (52 5th Avenue)

An Irish pub on 5th & Bergen, Cypress Avenue has great food and drink specials -- AND -- they are just a potato’s throw from The Barclays Center. So if you're looking for a cheap place to pre-game before checking out a show you probably paid a shit ton of money for, this is the place to go.  Drink specials include $2-off pints till 7 p.m., $4 well drinks until 8 p.m. and $2 off call drinks till 7. They also have a variety of food specials, which usually include slider combinations or meat pies (yum).

4. Commonwealth (497 5th Avenue)

Here you can grab $4 drafts and a $1-off mixed drinks from 4-7 p.m. Monday-Friday. Though they don't offer happy hour food specials, they do serve Dub Pies and occasionally give out free condoms and popcorn, which is all you really need for a fun evening.

Do you have a favorite watering hole that has some sort of happy hour deal?  If so, let us know in the comments!
