FiPS Readers Weigh In: Time Warner Rates Going up again

Erica has never held back her hatred for Time Warner. Nor did we withhold our excitement upon hearing that Fios was coming to Park Slope. But that was over the summer, and as far as I know, some Park Slopers are still waiting for the opportunity to drop Time Warner for the greener grasses of Fios. In addition, it looks like TW's prices are about to go up. A FiPS reader writes in:

My girlfriend and I (on 6th st & 7th ave) just got notice that fucking TWC rates are going up AGAIN. FUCKING AGAIN. Some info I've gathered:  I saw averizon trucked parked on 9th st and 7th ave a couple months ago and talked to the driver about what the story was with FiOS in park slope.  He told me that all the underground cabling had been installed but they were having problems getting in to peoples backyards and such to install the rest of the necessary equipment.  Also worth noting - these fancy new buildings like the one our friends live in on 4th ave and 5th street has fucking FiOS!

I've had it with these motherfuckers.  Because the majority of my job is working from home and needing to upload a large amount of data relatively quickly, I've had to pay TWC MORE money per month to get faster internet then they offer with their base package.

Our cable/internet bill is something like $170/month!!! and that's before this fucking new rate hike.  My cousin in Williamsburg has the same exact services with FiOS and pays $116.  And his upload internet speed is 5x faster. Is there ANYTHING that we as a community can do to help get the ball rolling faster with Verizon? I'm willing to do whatever the fuck it takes to help purge this neighborhood of TWC once and for all.  I hate them.  I hate them so much.  Meetings, phone calls, whatever the fuck we can do, I'm in.
