"Dear Comida, You Suck."

Below is an email that a FIPS reader sent to Comida Mercado Fresco after they fucked up his fiancé's bridal shower. I personally have never dined at Comida, nor have I been a bride, and I don't see either happening any time soon. I have been a waitress though, and my livelihood has depended on tips. Any good waitress knows the easiest way to rack up a high bill is to get people drunk in order to sell more alcohol. That being said, read on and decide for yourself: Forgivable or not?

My fiance, ****, had her Bridal Shower at Comida this past Saturday, arranged by her sister, XXXX. Though the room was wonderful and the staff were very friendly, unfortunately a large part of the experience was incredibly unprofessional.

XXXX went over the menu with you numerous times, and it still came out wrong. The bride can’t eat eggs, and two out of the three choices on the menu were egg dishes, even though it was repeatedly requested that the menu be for lunch. When XXXX asked if it could be corrected, the staff refused because it was already printed.

When the bride asked if she could order another item from the menu, she was told she couldn’t.

The menu was also supposed to say “****’s Bridal Shower” at top, and did not.

It was also pointed out that the alcoholic drinks, though delicious, were pushed upon people (asking if they wanted new drinks, when drinks were still full & not refilling water). The staff even asked the room if they wanted shots.

Servers brought over drinks to a table at least 1x that were not ordered (server said they would remove from bill but not sure if they actually did).

I was happy to pay for the drinks by consumption, but this forcefulness to take advantage of a situation is quite unprofessional. Obviously there is nothing that can be done about this now, but it is very unfortunate as we live in the neighborhood, along with many others that attended.

We had all hoped to look forward to many more meals at Comida, but that will definitely not be the case.

Thank you,
