Cool or Not Cool: Beating the heat in the Prospect Park lake

It's too darn hot! And people are choosing some interesting ways to cool off when they are out and about in New York City. From today's New York Post: 

Alexis Tennesse, 21, a baker from Lefferts Garden, spent the day with her boyfriend enjoying the water wherever they could, including the fountain at Grand Army Plaza and the Prospect Park lake.

Am I crazy or is that kind of gross? I mean, I'm sure it's cleaner than the Gowanus, but...
