Chillax: Lice Lady Not Moving into Percy's After All

Holy smokes. People FUH-REAKED out and got all NIMBY about the possibility of a LiceBusters location moving in to the space formerly occupied by Percy's Pizza. 

First of all, a resident of First Street made the above flyer to protest having this type of business right down the street from where he/she lives, and two doors down from an eating establishment (Bare Burger). Then the owner of the building commented on our post to deny the "allegations:"

It's true, we did not call the building owner to confirm what the LiceBusters owner's son told two separate people. We apologize, Tim Piper! "Defamatory" seems a little extreme, though, no? It's not like we said it was a brothel, or a porn shop. It's a lice lady! But, hey, we are very sorry to have insinutated that you would even consider renting to such a place of ill repute. I did speak to Dalya from LiceBusters this morning, who said that while they are exploring options in the neighborhood, the rent is too damn high -- despite her son's declarations to the contrary. 

Seriously, though, do people really think that you can get lice from walking past another person? Or that lice could crawl down the street and up your chair while you're eating a burger? Jaysus. Unless you share a hat, comb, brush, scarf, pillow, shirt, coat with a person who has lice, you are pretty much in the clear. The whole "teen lice epidemic due to selfies" trend was even debunked as a marketing ploy. 

So, there you go. Sorry to disappoint all the neighborhood families who were secretly super-psyched that they wouldn't have to schlep to Borough Park anymore. You know who you are.
