Brooklyn Rabbinical Thugs in the Dog House

Am I wrong or does this sound like it's ripped right from the pages of a Michael Chabon novel?

Rabbi Mendel Epstein of Brooklyn has been arrested for torturing men until they agree to divorce their wives. Yes, yes it gets stranger just hold on. Epstein gained a reputation as a well known lawyer and champion for women's rights, handling over 2,000 divorice cases for women desperate to leave their husbands. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. BUT some of these women would come to Epstein and pay upwards of $100,000 just to kidnap and "rough up" said husbands in some pretty effed up ways. According to the Daily News:

'We prefer not to leave a mark,' the racketeering rabbi allegedly said in a recorded conversation with an undercover agent in which he described his method. 'We take an electric cattle prod. …You put it in certain parts of his body, and in one minute the guy will know.'

Yiddish what now? 

Wednesday night Epstein was taken into custody at his Kensington home along with two other men and a third muscle man named "Yaakov." I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP!!!

Again, I'm just going to let the News take this one away:

He said his son and other toughs use 'karate skills on the victims to facilitate the divorces,' as well as handcuffs and placing of plastic bags over the husbands' heads, court documents said.

Last week, a Beit Din, or rabbinical court, in Monsey, Rockland County, authorized the use of violence, and Epstein was told the husband would be lured to a warehouse in New Jersey this week. He then allegedly scoped out the location with Yaakov.

I mean... amazing! Karate skills? This is all too much and let's be honest I want to see pictures of Yaakov STAT! 

Epstein and his accomplices,  Rabbi Martin Wolmark, Ariel Potash and Yaakov were scheduled to appear in Federal court in Trenton on Thursday. Let's just hope we get more details.
