Brooklyn Free Space Wants Your Kids to Get Coked Up on a Saturday Afternoon

This weekend, most of us will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day the traditional, Irish way.  You know -- corned beef and cabbage, binge drinking, and domestic violence. But the good people at Brooklyn Free Space have a better idea. Why not take your kids to a dance party where they can do lines of coke in the washroom?
All across the neighborhood, signs have been taped to polls inviting parents to bring their kids to a Saturday afternoon dance party on March 17th. The party is called "Danceteria," and unless the organizers are completely ignorant of 80's new wave club culture, it's an obvious paean to Danceteria, the legendary mega club and blow palace, where Madonna made her performing debut.
Frankly, I'm surprised that parents who are so concerned about whether their kids are going to consume high-fructose corn syrup would allow them to indulge in nose candy.  But, then again, I'm a baller, so what do I know?
