Bored To Death, That Stolen Sugar Dog, and Why I Heart Jonathan Ames

Okay, I lurve him. I want to sip tea and play like dogs in the surf with him. He's really not my type and I AM married but I am hawt for Jonathan Ames. His mind, anyway.

I must confess that I'm too cheap to shell out for HBO and cannot wrest the clicker away from my beasts long enough to watch anything anyway, thus have never actually watched Bored To Death. So I had to hear it from Sugar's mom during off leash hours at Prospect Park (who had heard it from HER friend), that the whole plot of last week's episode evidently revolved around one of our very own stranger than fiction posts

Remember the kidnapping and ransom of Sugar, that just plain wrong-looking and kind of irascible frenchie basset hound mix who lives across the street from me?

Shot on our very own iconic leafy, brownstoned streets, stealing our parking spots, our headlines, our very souls, not putting out a local casting call. Erica was pissed that I didn't take a picture of the stars riding a bicycle built for two in front of nee Apple Tree, now Garfield Market. I was pissed that they didn't hire Ziggy and Ollie to play the dogs! As a matter of fact, the real Sugar is the kid that Ziggy and Ollie would have if they were so inclined and one of them were a bitch.

But I'm over it because I want more of JA. In fact, I may call Time Warner and get HBO for you, JA. Also: have some more "only in our most livable hood" plots for you and you alone. You dawg, you.

Love, Allison
