Unfortunately, we have yet another attempted sexual assault to add to the growing list of recent incidents in South Brooklyn.
From a Concerned Citizens of Greenwood Heights bulletin:
On Saturday, June 25 at approx. 4AM a young woman, who had just left a group of friends, was entering her building, in/around 7th ave and 20th St., when she was grabbed from behind. The attacker attempted to force his way into the building, but she was able to fight him off. He escaped up 8th Ave. She was not harmed. The 72nd Pct. is considering this an attempted sexual assault. They have recovered video of the attack and have sent it to the local news outlets.
Because of similarities between this attack and the other three recent sexual assaults, the police have concluded that the man pictured in the surveillance vid above is responsible for all four of them.
This is all making me kind of nauseous. There's also quite a bit of chatter on on CCGH regarding why the eff the 72nd precinct waited so long to release info, and why they haven't stepped up their game when just a few weeks ago the CB7 and a big group of freaked out local residents got together with police and heard all about how they were going to be much more vigilant.
I guess not so much.
Police are asking anyone with info to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS, or to www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or you can even text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and entering the TIP577 shortcode.
Also, BE FUCKING CAREFUL OUT THERE!
